Job Title : Dynamic Capabilities, Digital Transformation And Company Performance: An Empirical Approach.
Summary
Purpose : The purpose of this research is to show how digital transformation requires certain dynamic capabilities related to knowledge, to improve organizational results through changes in the company's business models.
Design/Methodology/Approach : Surveys were conducted with the CEOs of 184 Spanish companies, and their responses were analyzed with the PLS-SEM methodology.
Results : First, our results highlight that information capacity, organizational agility and absorptive capacity have direct relationships with digital transformation; Second, business model innovation partially mediates the link between digital transformation and firm performance.
Originality/Value : This study fills an existing gap in the literature by delving into how certain dynamic capabilities focused on the acquisition of knowledge help the transformation of corporate business to remain competitive. This study empirically analyzes highly assumed but poorly contrasted relationships between dynamic capabilities, digital transformation and business model innovation. Practical Implications : Managers must emphasize the implementation of certain dynamic capabilities if they want their companies to remain competitive in increasingly turbulent environments that require the digitalization of internal processes and changes in the orientation of their current business models.
